Rance Duke Joins The Port’s Board of Directors

Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners Appoints New Board Member


CINCINNATI – The Port Board of Directors announced today that Rance Duke, retired, Fort Washington Investment Advisors, Inc., has joined the organization’s board. Rance was appointed by the Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners to fill the position formerly held by David O. Smith.

“The Board joins me in welcoming Rance,” said Charles Luken, Board Chair. “Rance has significant leadership experience in our community and his roles at Fort Washington Investment Advisors are valuable as The Port revitalizes blighted, underutilized real estate in Hamilton County and works to create prosperity and jobs in our community.”

Rance held senior leadership roles at Fort Washington Investment Advisors before retiring in 2015. He started as a Supervisor in the Treasury Department and rose to Vice President, Head of Investment Grade Credit, at Western & Southern subsidiary Fort Washington Investment Advisors, Inc. Rance is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Cincinnati Art Museum, Bethesda, Inc., Bethesda Foundation and Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum.

“I’m pleased to join The Port’s Board of Directors and share the organization’s goals of promoting economic development, attracting jobs and improving real estate in Hamilton County,” shared Rance. “With over 40 years of professional experience, board service and many established relationships in the Greater Cincinnati area, I feel positioned to contribute toward positive improvements and a bright future for Hamilton County.”

The Port’s President and CEO Laura N. Brunner shared, “I welcome Rance to the Board and look forward to his expertise as we invest in real estate to enhance our neighborhoods and bring new manufacturing employment centers to Cincinnati.”

David O. Smith, Retired Director, Economic Development, Duke Energy Corp. has served on The Port’s Board of Directors since 2008. “I extend my deep appreciation and thanks to David Smith for serving on the Board for more than a decade. His leadership has been key to The Port’s success and vision as an economic development agency,” added Ms. Brunner.

The Mayor of Cincinnati and the Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners appoint The Port’s board members in equal numbers. Board members are unpaid volunteers and serve four year terms.
