This initiative aims to replace deteriorating investor-owned housing with attainable homeownership opportunities while preserving the neighborhood’s historic character. The Port is stabilizing long-neglected properties, preparing them for future redevelopment, and advancing a plan to rehabilitate single-family homes. The work also includes efforts to honor the community’s history through the installation of an Ohio Historical Marker and the launch of a supportive home repair program for existing homeowners.
Impact:
The project strengthens neighborhood stability by reducing blight, increasing homeownership pathways, and preserving historic structures. Early investments, supported by the City of Cincinnati, have helped prevent further deterioration of key properties while setting the stage for quality, affordable housing. The forthcoming home repair program will further support long-time residents, helping them maintain and stay in their homes, ultimately contributing to long-term community resilience and reinvestment.
