Former Reliable Castings at 3530 Spring Grove Avenue

Remediation and demolition of a former metal foundry in Camp Washington sets up prominent 2.7-acre site along Spring Grove Avenue for new investment.

In-Process Project – This project is in process, and information may change. This page will be updated as it progresses.

Background

In the 1920s, this site was initially developed as a sheet metal works and industrial warehouse. In the 1930s, the warehouse was converted into a non-ferrous metals foundry, and operations expanded over the ensuing decades to occupy the full 2.7-acre property. The foundry manufactured brass, bronze, copper, and aluminum parts until it ceased operations in 2021.

The Hamilton County Landbank, a managed entity of The Port, acquired the property in June 2022 following a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA).

Due Diligence Assessments:

Abatement work is planned for the second half of 2026, funded through a USEPA Multi-Purpose Grant.

Impact:

  • Preparing the site for new investment will support ongoing revitalization efforts in Camp Washington by reducing environmental risks, returning underutilized property to productive use, and encouraging continued economic investment in the Mill Creek Corridor.

Project Specs:

  • 7-Acre Site
