In May, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of YWCA Greater Cincinnati’s newest domestic violence shelter in Avondale. This project is rooted in thoughtful, informed design that offers privacy, safety, and healing for survivors and their families. The shelter was made possible through a combination of vision, collaboration, and creative financing, including $5 million in Federal New Markets Tax Credits allocated by Uptown Consortium Inc., a managed entity of The Port. These credits help attract private investment into communities, closing funding gaps for projects that might not otherwise move forward. With 25 apartment-style units, on-site services, and spaces for both connection and quiet, this sanctuary is more than just a building. It is a foundation for renewal, resilience, and long-term recovery. We’re proud to help make it possible.
