Port Authority Promotes Susan Thomas
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority is pleased to announce the promotion of Susan E. Thomas to Executive Vice President. Susan recently served as Vice President and Director of Public Finance, positions she helped establish and has held at the economic development agency for eight years.
In her expanded role, Susan works to ensure effective efforts in organizational management, program services, governance, and public policy, in keeping with Port Authority’s overall mission of creating prosperity in Hamilton County through public land investment and stewardship. Her major responsibilities include leadership of programs that address abandoned, foreclosed and underutilized properties and other conditions that prevent Hamilton County residents from living in sustainable neighborhoods and from participating in economic prosperity. She shares leadership responsibilities with Executive Vice President Darin Hall.
Susan helps set strategic direction for both the Port Authority and the Hamilton County Land Reutilization Corporation (LandBank), which has been successfully managed by the Port Authority since 2012. The LandBank actively owns and manages more than 500 properties throughout Hamilton County neighborhoods and partners with local communities, municipalities, nonprofits and developers to enhance the use of land resources and return vacant, tax-foreclosed and underutilized properties to productive use.
Susan will continue to provide leadership to the Port Authority’s public finance program and staff. She has helped define the Port Authority’s evolution of its public finance work from primarily an issuer of conduit debt to an innovative real estate finance operation that plays a vital role within the development community.
