Business Courier: Key Bond Hill real estate player opens new community center
The Allen Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church opened a new, 10,000-square-foot community center with a dedication ceremony held on Sunday November 2, 2014 in Bond Hill.
Allen Temple, the oldest African American church in Bond Hill, has been a key player in the redevelopment of the community. It had control of the 25-acre Swifton Commons Mall, now the site of MidPointe Crossing, and sold it to the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority, entering into a community redevelopment agreement.
“We are part of the renaissance of Bond Hill, and we will continue to build not with bricks and mortar but with compassion, service and love for all,” said Rev. Alphonse Allen Sr., pastor of the church.
