Damon Jones Appointed to Port Authority Board
The Board of Directors of the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority is pleased to announce that Damon Jones has joined the board.
Jones is Director of Global Company Communications for The Procter & Gamble Company, responsible for corporate and financial media relations, digital and social media, influencer and stakeholder relations and issue and crisis management. Based at P&G’s Cincinnati headquarters, Jones has held a variety of global and regional leadership positions at P&G over the past 19 years.
Jones, a graduate of Xavier University, is a former trustee of the school and has held board-level positions at a number of business, professional and not-for-profit organizations dedicated to improving community life and human services in Greater Cincinnati. In 2008, he took a leave of absence from P&G to accept the position of Communications Director for the Democratic National Convention, leading the development and successful execution of external communications strategy that ultimately advanced a successful campaign to elect U.S. President Barack Obama.
“The Port Authority is an important partner in enhancing our region’s competitive position and economic resilience,” Jones said. “Also, the Port is building stronger neighborhoods through partnerships that are working to confront some of the region’s most intractable social issues of poverty and wealth inequality. I am pleased to be a part of an organization that has set a high priority on accelerating comprehensive development within disinvested areas.”
